Thieves steal temple hundi in Suraram

HYDERABAD: A theft was reported at Sri Lakshmi Ganapati Temple in Vaishnavi Nagar under Suraram Division in Medchal–Malkajgiri district. The incident came to light on Monday morning when temple staff arrived and found the hundi missing.
Intruders enter temple after midnight
According to temple authorities, unidentified persons entered the temple after midnight on Sunday and took away the hundi. The accused allegedly targeted the donation box when the temple premises were deserted.
Temple representatives said devotees regularly contribute offerings to the hundi, which is opened periodically in the presence of temple officials.
Hundi found broken in forest area
The accused reportedly carried the hundi to the nearby Gajularamaram forest area, where they broke it open and escaped with the cash collected inside.
After receiving information, police visited the spot and gathered preliminary details. Efforts are underway to identify the suspects and ascertain the amount of money stolen from the hundi.
Police begin inquiry
Temple management lodged a complaint with the police, who have registered a case and launched an inquiry. Investigators are also examining available evidence and verifying the sequence of events leading to the theft.
