Supreme Court hears Telangana phone tapping case today

HYDERABAD: The Supreme Court of India on Monday is scheduled to hear the Telangana government’s petition challenging the quashing of the phone tapping case by the Telangana High Court.
State seeks probe permission
The state has urged the apex court to allow investigation against former minister Harish Rao and former deputy commissioner of police Radha Kishan Rao in the alleged phone tapping case.
High Court order under challenge
The case stems from a complaint filed earlier by Chakradhar Goud at the Panjagutta police station, alleging illegal phone tapping. The High Court had quashed the FIR registered against Harish Rao, prompting the state government to move the Supreme Court.
Orders awaited
The matter is listed for hearing today, with anticipation over the directions the Supreme Court may issue on resuming the probe.
