Superstar Rajinikanth’s condition stable after admission to Chennai Hospital

Hyderabad: Actor and superstar Rajinikanth, 73, was admitted to Apollo Hospitals late Monday night for an elective procedure on September 30, 2024. According to sources, the superstar’s health is stable, and he is expected to be discharged by this evening.
According to the reports, Rajinikanth was admitted under the supervision of an interventional cardiologist for heart tests and treatment following complaints of basic digestive discomfort. Sources confirmed that he is currently fine and has been kept in the hospital for observation and additional health checkups.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister expressed his best wishes for Rajinikanth’s speedy recovery on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, stating, “Hospitalized friend Superstar Mr. @rajinikanth. I wish him a speedy recovery.”
Rajinikanth, who predominantly works in Tamil cinema, has had a prolific career spanning over five decades, featuring in 170 films across various languages, including Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali, and Malayalam. He is widely regarded as one of the most successful and popular actors in Indian cinema history, known for his unique mannerisms and iconic one-liners.
His contributions to the film industry have earned him several prestigious awards, including the Padma Bhushan in 2000, the Padma Vibhushan in 2016, and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2019 at the 67th National Film Awards. He has also received numerous accolades, including seven Tamil Nadu State Film Awards and a Filmfare Award.
Early Life and Career
Rajinikanth was born on December 12, 1950, in a Marathi Hindu family in Bangalore. He is the youngest of four siblings. After losing his mother at the age of nine, he began his film career with the Tamil film Apoorva Raagangal in 1975, which was directed by K. Balachander.
His 170th film as a lead actor, Vettaiyan, is set to be produced by Subaskaran Allirajah of Lyca Productions and directed by T. J. Gnanavel, known for his work on Jai Bhim (2021). In this film, Rajinikanth will portray a police officer, with a cast that includes Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, and Dushara Vijayan. The film began shooting on October 4, 2023 and is scheduled for release on October 10, 2024. Additionally, Sun Pictures recently announced Rajinikanth’s 171st film, tentatively titled Thalaivar 171, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
