Sultan Bazar police arrests an accused in POCSO case

Nampally: Sultan Bazar police make a crackdown in a POCSO case on Thursday. A man who kidnapped and sexually assaulted a minor girl was arrested by Sultan Bazar police of Hyderabad commissionerate on Thursday. The accused was identified as Madha Hari Krishna(27) hailing from Nalgonda district.

According to the police the accused kidnapped the minor girl from Sultan Bazar Metro station, Hyderabad on May 11. Further the accused Hari Krishna took the victim to Vijayawada and married her in a Hanuman temple, Vijayawada on May 16. Further they took a room in a lodge where the accused violated the minor.

Meanwhile, based on the complaint from the minor girl’s father, Sultan Bazar police booked a missing case and started an investigation and rescued the minor girl. When the police team recorded her statement the victim narrated her ordeal in which she stated that “she was kidnapped by Hari Krishna and took her to Vijayawada and married her in a Hanuman temple, Vijayawada on May 16 and sexually assaulted at the lodge”.

Victim’s statement helped in arresting the accused

Based on her statement the Sultan Bazar police arrested the accused Hari Krishna from Nalgonda. Investigation revealed that the accused was already married and divorced his wife, but it was pending in the court. Again the said accused kidnapped and married the minor girl and sexually assaulted. The Police filed a POCSO case on the accused and arrested.

Further, Sultan Bazar police shifted the victim to Bharosa centre for statement recording under 161 Cr.PC. Medical evidence was also collected in the Bharosa Center”, said Sri Shankar, ACP Sultan Bazar division .

Sultan Bazar police booked a case under sections of 363(Punishment for Kidnapping), 376(Punishment for sexual assault) of Indian Penal code(IPC) and relevant section of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act of 2012 and further investigation is underway.
