Sudanese national at Gandhi Hospital tests negative for Ebola

HYDERABAD: A Sudanese national who was under isolation at Gandhi Hospital has tested negative for Ebola, according to the Telangana Health Department.
The National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune, confirmed that samples collected from the individual were negative for the Ebola virus.
In line with the Government of India’s guidelines, health screening of international passengers is continuing at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Shamshabad. Passengers exhibiting symptoms are being shifted to the isolation ward established at Gandhi Hospital, where samples are collected and sent to NIV Pune for testing.
Individuals who do not show symptoms are being advised home isolation. Their health status is being monitored for 21 days as a precautionary measure.
The Telangana Health Department said it remains vigilant and is taking all necessary measures to safeguard public health.
