Subbayya Gari Hotel In Gachibowli Found With Unclean Kitchen, Missing Fssai License

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Commissioner of Food Safetyโ€™s Task Force carried out surprise inspections in multiple areas of Hyderabad, uncovering serious hygiene and safety violations across several food establishments.

Subbayya Gari Hotel in Gachibowli Faces Multiple Violations

On March 20, 2025, the Task Force inspected Subbayya Gari Hotel, located on Kondapur-Gachibowli Road, where several violations were found.

The establishment was not displaying its FSSAI License, a mandatory requirement. The kitchen area was unhygienic, with broken flooring and unclean walls. Drains in the premises were found to be clogged and overflowing, and the hotelโ€™s waste management system was inadequate. Food handlers were observed working without proper hygiene gear, such as headcaps and gloves.

The stoves and utensils were highly unclean, and vegetables were stored improperly, resulting in dried products. The storage room was also in poor condition. Furthermore, essential documents like water analysis reports, pest control records, and medical fitness certificates for food handlers were not available. The team collected samples for further lab analysis.

Yashoda Dairy Products in Qutubullapur Cited for Multiple Safety Lapses

Earlier, on March 18, 2025, the Task Force raided Yashoda Dairy Products in Jeedimetla, Qutubullapur. During the inspection, the unit was found to have several issues, including multiple openings that allowed pests to enter, as it lacked insect-proof mesh. The flooring was patchy and wet, with stagnant water and no proper drainage. Employees were seen handling food with bare hands despite wearing hairnets. A housefly infestation was noted, and some food items, like milk powder, were found stored directly on the ground instead of pallets.

The cold room was not maintained in clean condition, and like the Subbayya Gari Hotel, the FSSAI License was not prominently displayed. The premises also failed to provide necessary records, such as pest control logs, employee health certificates, water and food analysis reports, and temperature monitoring data for the cold room.

Shri Nath Dairy in Katedan Found with Poor Hygiene and Maintenance

On March 20, 2025, another inspection was conducted at Shri Nath Dairy Unit in Katedan, where several hygiene and maintenance issues were identified. The walls at the entrance were dirty, with pan stains, and the unit had openings to the outside environment that were not fitted with insect-proof mesh.

The flooring was patchy in several areas, and the drains were uncovered. The unit had a visible presence of houseflies and cockroaches, and cobwebs were found in multiple places. Racks used to store paneer in the cold room were rusty, and a rodent infestation was observed. There were no rat pads visible, and, similar to the other units, records for cold room temperature monitoring and food testing were not available.

The Task Force has initiated further investigations into the findings at all three locations and is awaiting results from the samples collected for lab analysis.
