Hyderabad: According to the National Center for Seismology, an earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale struck Mulugu in Telangana at 7:27 a.m. today, December 4, 2024.
In a tweet, the Telangana Weatherman (@balaji25_t) mentioned, “For the first time in the last 20 years, one of the strongest earthquakes occurred in Telangana with a 5.3 magnitude at Mulugu as the epicenter. The tremors were felt throughout Telangana, including Hyderabad. This one was pretty strong.”
He further shared, “Over the past three years, we’ve seen earthquakes in the same area, but this one is significantly stronger. Earthquakes in the Godavari River bed area are common, with magnitudes of 3-4 being frequent. But today’s 5.3 magnitude earthquake is notably strong.”
