Stranded Hyderabad man, six others duped amid Russia-Ukraine war
HYDERABAD: Several Indians, including a man from Hyderabad, have been stranded in Russia after allegedly being forced to take part in the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.
They were reportedly duped by a person named Faisal Khan from Maharashtra, who runs a YouTube channel called ‘Baba Vlogs’. Khan allegedly assured them of employment as ‘army security aides’ in Russia, only to later expose them to combat situations on the battlefield.
Despite the promise not to be involved in direct combat operations, the individuals received basic training in the use of weapons and were subsequently forced to take part in combat operations. Tragically, they were caught up in a gun-fire in which a local comrade was killed. One member managed to escape and is currently receiving medical treatment.
In a video published on his YouTube channel, Faisal Khan claimed to have sent seven people to Russia to serve in the army.
The family of one of the victims from Hyderabad has approached AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi for help. On January 25, Owaisi approached External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar and the Indian Embassy in Moscow, urging the government to work for the repatriation of the stranded persons.
