Hyderabad: The Department of Biochemistry at St. Francis College for Women, Begumpet, organized a National Conference on ‘Convergence of Technology & Biology – Transforming Life Sciences’ on February 14, 2025. The event brought together researchers, professionals, and students to explore advancements in biotechnology and their impact on life sciences.

The conference opened with a lamp lighting ceremony attended by Dr. Uma Joseph, Principal; Dr. Sr. Sherly, Vice Principal; Dr. K M V Narayana Rao, Head of Analytical R&D at NATCO Research Centre and keynote speaker; Dr. Vishnu Priya, Chief Scientist at the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB); Dr. Usha Praveena, Dean of Sciences; and faculty members of the Biochemistry Department.

Dr. Uma Joseph highlighted the growing intersection of biology and technology in her address, noting its potential to transform healthcare, agriculture, and environmental sustainability. She highlighted the significance of discussions on artificial intelligence and machine learning, encouraging students to engage fully in the conference and gain valuable insights.

The keynote speaker, Dr. K M V Narayana Rao, discussed how technological advancements are accelerating drug discovery and development. He stressed the importance of staying updated with new technologies and adopting them for skill development, urging the participants to embrace change.
