SST team seizes ₹25 lakh unaccounted cash in Jubilee Hills constituency
HYDERABAD: In an enforcement action under election surveillance for the Jubilee Hills Assembly Constituency bye-election, the Static Surveillance Team (SST)–11B on October 13 intercepted a vehicle and seized ₹25 lakh in unaccounted cash.
Vehicle intercepted near Maithryvanam X Roads, cash handed to police
The SST team, conducting routine checks at Maithryvanam X Roads near Saradhi Studio, stopped a car bearing registration number TS09FF 6111. Upon inspection, officials found the cash in possession of Jairam Talasia, a resident of Flat No. 194, Seethammadhara (NE Layout), Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
As per Election Commission of India guidelines, the seized amount was handed over to Madhuranagar police station for further investigation and necessary action.
The enforcement drive forms part of the Election Commission’s measures to curb the movement of unaccounted money and inducements during the bye-election period.
