Green Corridor Helps Rush Lungs to Hyderabad Patient

HYDERABAD: Doctors transported lungs from Srikakulam by air for a patient in critical condition in Hyderabad on Thursday. Security officials created a green corridor from Shamshabad airport to KIMS Hospital in Begumpet to facilitate the organ transfer.

Airport-to-hospital transfer completed under special security arrangements

According to airport authorities, a medical team carrying the lungs left a private hospital in Srikakulam at 1.45 pm. The team boarded IndiGo flight 6E-783 at 4.25 pm and landed at Shamshabad airport at 5.16 pm.

Ambulance covers 36.8 km in 26 minutes

The ambulance carrying the organs travelled 36.8 km from the airport to KIMS Hospital in Begumpet and reached the destination in 26 minutes through the green corridor.

Doctors thanked security officials and airport authorities for making special arrangements to ensure the timely transportation of the organs.
