Sridhar Babu accuses BJP, BRS of spreading misinformation

HYDERABAD: Telangana IT and industries minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu on Saturday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) of engaging in a “race of misinformation” to mislead voters ahead of the Jubilee Hills by-election.
BJP, BRS distorting CM’s remarks, says minister
Addressing a public meeting organised by local Congress leaders at Shalivahana Nagar Community Hall in Ellareddyguda, Sridhar Babu said while the Congress was focused on consolidating its mandate, the BJP and BRS were misinterpreting chief minister A Revanth Reddy’s statements to create confusion.
He dismissed speculation that welfare schemes were being discontinued and said, “Not a single welfare programme has been stopped. All six guarantees of the Congress government will be implemented in a phased and responsible manner.”
‘Opposition seeking mileage through diversion tactics’
The minister termed former minister K T Rama Rao’s remarks, that the chief minister was acting like a victorious emperor, as baseless. He said Revanth Reddy had always maintained that he was “not a ruler but a trustee of the people’s wealth and aspirations.”
Sridhar Babu said the government was committed to fulfilling promises made to unemployed youth and added that neither the BJP nor the BRS had the moral right to question its intent. He urged the opposition to avoid “cheap political commentary” and engage in constructive politics.
Govt to act under ‘Indiramma Rajyam’ spirit
Reaffirming the government’s welfare approach, Sridhar Babu said that under the spirit of Indiramma Rajyam, no citizen would be left behind. He said that in cases of illegal constructions, the poor would be rehabilitated before enforcement action was taken, and cautioned officials against overzealous implementation.
He appealed to opposition parties to respect the people’s mandate and urged voters not to fall prey to false propaganda. “The Congress government is moving forward with the collective hopes and aspirations of Telangana’s people,” he said.
The minister also thanked nine Dalit organisations, including Madiga Dandora, Telangana Madiga Hakkula Dandora, T-MRPS and OU TGROS, for extending support to the Congress in the bypoll.
The event was attended by minister Adluri Laxman Kumar, AICC in-charge Viswanath, MLAs Vijaya Rama Rao and Makkan Singh Thakur, former MLA Arepalli Mohan, former MLC Bhanu Prasad, and other local leaders.
