₹14 crore fraud case: Cyberabad EOW books Sandhya Convention MD Sridhar Rao, wife

HYDERABAD: The Cyberabad Economic Offences Wing (EOW) police have registered a case against Sandhya Convention Managing Director Sridhar Rao and his wife following a complaint by a Delhi-based company alleging fraud of ₹14 crore.
Athena Projects Private Limited, in its complaint, accused Rao of creating forged documents and fake paperwork to deceive and defraud the firm. The company further alleged that Rao’s wife was also part of the conspiracy.
Based on the complaint, police booked both accused under multiple sections. Officials said the investigation is underway to verify the allegations and establish the extent of the fraud.
Allegations of forged documents and financial deception
The complainant firm stated that it was misled through fabricated records and assurances, which led to financial losses amounting to ₹14 crore. The complaint claimed that the accused used fraudulent documentation to gain the company’s trust.
Police initiate probe under multiple sections
Following the filing of the complaint, Cyberabad EOW police registered a formal case. Officials said further details would emerge after examination of financial records and related evidence.
