Sridhar Babu urges corporates to align CSR with Telangana Rising 2047

HYDERABAD: Telangana IT and industries minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu on Saturday urged companies to align their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives with Telangana Rising 2047, the state government’s long-term development vision.
He said inclusive and sustainable development required collective efforts by the government, industry and society.
Minister seeks industry partnership in state’s long-term development
Sridhar Babu was speaking after inaugurating the 50th Southern India Regional Conference of Company Secretaries in Hyderabad. The two-day conference was organised by the Hyderabad Chapter of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) at the Telangana Contractors Cultural Club in Kondapur.
The minister described Telangana Rising 2047 as a long-term vision aimed at inclusive economic growth and social progress.
He said the vision sought to ensure that economic growth translated into social progress, innovation generated employment and development reached every constituency and section of society.
The state government gave high priority to partnerships with industries, educational institutions, voluntary organisations and the corporate sector to achieve these objectives, he said.
Sridhar Babu assured investors and companies that the government would remain a reliable partner in implementing CSR initiatives and facilitating industrial investments across Telangana.
Company secretaries urged to take wider strategic role
Referring to rapid advances in Artificial Intelligence (AI), data governance and cybersecurity, Sridhar Babu said the responsibilities of corporate professionals had expanded significantly.
He said company secretaries should go beyond their compliance responsibilities and serve as strategic advisers to corporate boards, particularly on governance, sustainability and ethical business practices.
The minister also appreciated ICSI for joining the state government’s flagship Constituency Development Programme (CDX) as a Knowledge Partner.
He expressed confidence that more companies and professional institutions would collaborate with the government to advance Telangana’s long-term development agenda.
ICSI national and regional office-bearers, including Mahadev Tirunagari, M. Damodaran, Shilpa Bung and Karthik, were present.
