Parents file complaint with NCPCR, CBSE against Sri Vidhya Vihar School

Hyderabad: The parents of a child, who received a Transfer Certificate due to false allegations, filed an online complaint with the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) and the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Chairman against the management of Sri Vidhya Vihar School, located in Annojiguda (CBSE Affiliation No. 3630349). The complaint was filed through the Know Your Rights NGO.
While speaking with the Hyderabad Mail, Srikhande Umesh Kumar, an RTI activist and the Founder of Know Your Rights NGO, stated, “We have filed a complaint against Sri Vidhya Vihar School in Annojiguda, Medchal-Malkajgiri. We urge the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) to conduct a thorough investigation into these matters and to take stringent action against the management of Sri Vidhya Vihar School. These practices not only violate CBSE norms and guidelines, but they also exploit and intimidate parents and students.”
It was learned that the Sri Vidya Vihar School, Rastriya Vidya Kendram, an organization allegedly affiliated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), issued a transfer certificate to a student after the parents raised concerns regarding the school’s non-compliance with DEO directives related to the sale of books and uniforms. Additionally, the school was allegedly found to be collecting unauthorized fees without issuing proper receipts.

Srikanth, the parent, said, “The school management made false accusations and issued a transfer certificate because I opposed the administration’s actions regarding the sale of books, uniforms, and the collection of excessive fees. Not only me but also other parents who question the school management, receive transfer certificates, and face false accusations.”
Srikanth said, “Sri Vidhya Vihar CBSE School, situated at Annojiguda, Pocharam municipality, is forcing parents to buy all books, stationery, and uniforms from the school. The books sold are from private publishers and are priced more than 10 times higher than NCERT books, prescribed for the CBSE board and followed by Kendriya Vidyalayas and other CBSE schools.”
He said, “The school is collecting an annual fee of Rs. 10,000 from every student and only issuing books after the payment. Moreover, they are collecting an admission fee of Rs. 10,000, a caution deposit of Rs. 5,000, and an application cost of Rs. 1,000 without providing receipts. The school is simply writing the details on white paper and giving them to parents. The payments are being transferred to individual private persons’ PhonePe or Google Pay accounts.”
Srikanth also mentioned several illegal activities being carried out by the school that are against education policies and filed a complaint with the DEO.
Srikanth stated in the complaint filed with the DEO that the school management committee and the school society are mainly controlled by only two individuals, with the rest of the members being uninvolved in school matters. Upon investigation, it was discovered that some committee members have no affiliation with the school, and some are relatives of the management appointed as members of the school management committee and the parents-teachers association. These actions suggest that the school management is involved in illegal activities to exploit parents and students.
