Hyderabad metro extends services till midnight for SRH vs RR IPL match at Uppal
HYDERABAD: Metro rail services in the city have been extended till midnight on April 13 in view of the Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium.
Authorities announced that metro trains will operate beyond regular hours to facilitate the movement of spectators attending the match at Uppal. Services will be available till 00.00 hours (midnight), allowing fans to return home after the game without inconvenience.
Extended hours to ease post-match commuter pressure
Officials said the decision was taken anticipating heavy passenger traffic before and after the match. Additional services are expected to reduce congestion on roads and at transit points.
Public transport push during major sporting events
The move aligns with efforts to encourage the use of public transport during large-scale events in the city, ensuring smoother traffic management and commuter safety.
