Srinivas Reddy named India men’s kabaddi coach

HYDERABAD: Lingampally Srinivas Reddy from Telangana has been appointed head coach of the India men’s kabaddi team for the upcoming Youth Asian Games. The tournament will be held in Bahrain from October 19 to 23.

Telangana Kabaddi Association president Kasani Veeresh and general secretary M. Mahender Reddy expressed happiness over his selection, calling it a proud moment for the state. They hoped the team would win gold under his guidance.

Born in Uttarapalli village of Sangareddy district, Srinivas Reddy has vast coaching experience. He earlier coached Team India in the Dubai Masters Tournament and led the junior team in the Asian Championship. He also coached the senior women’s team in the 2018 Asian Games.

Reddy has worked with international teams from Australia, South Korea and Bangladesh. In the Pro Kabaddi League, he has served as coach for the Haryana Steelers, Jaipur Pink Panthers and Telugu Titans franchises.
