Spoiled meat products worth Rs. 8 lakh seized in Hyderabad store raid

Hyderabad: The Commissioner’s Task Force, South West Zone team, along with the Veterinary Department of the GHMC, raided a store in Mangalhat, Hyderabad, and seized 12 tons of stale and spoiled sheep and goat offals. The store, named “A to Z Sheep & Goat Offal,” is located near Chisti Chaman Dargah, Mangalhat.
The police apprehended the store’s owner, Mohd Afroz, aged 40, of Aman Nagar Colony, Mangalhat. The seized offals, which included items like Paya, Mudi, Beeja, Gurde, and Kaleji, are valued at approximately ₹8 lakh. The offals were found to be stale and unsuitable for consumption, raising health concerns.
Afroz was reportedly purchasing these offals at a low price from wholesale markets, then storing and selling them at events, marriage functions, and hotels, putting public health at risk. Consuming spoiled offals can lead to serious health issues.
The raid was carried out under the supervision of Inspector S. Bala Swamy, with assistance from SI S. Sai Kiran and a veterinary doctor from the GHMC, along with their teams.
