Speeding Skoda causes collision on PVNR Expressway, Two hurt

Hyderabad: A Skoda car collided with another vehicle on the PVNR Expressway near Rajendranagar on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, leaving two people with minor injuries.

According to the reports, the accident occurred when the Skoda, which was speeding, crashed into another car while traveling from Mehdipatnam toward Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad. The airbags in both vehicles helped reduce the impact and prevent serious injuries.

The two injured individuals were taken to a nearby hospital and are reported to be in stable condition.

Traffic police arrived at the scene to clear the traffic congestion caused by the collision and restore normal flow on the expressway.

The Rajendranagar police have registered a case and are investigating the cause of the accident.

Previous Incidents in Hyderabad

Earlier this year, on August 18, 2024, a BMW car collided with a road divider at Masab Tank, injuring four individuals. The accident occurred around 7:30 a.m. as the vehicle traveled from Khairatabad to Banjara Hills. The car, driven by Jitesh Bhagga, was carrying two men and two women. Witnesses assisted the injured, who were then taken to a private hospital for treatment.

In a tragic incident on August 17, 2024, a 16-year-old girl, Ranga Sathvika, died when a high-speed tipper lorry collided with the auto-rickshaw she was in at the Habsiguda Signal in Tarnaka. The collision pushed the auto into a stationary RTC bus. The auto driver, Yellaiah, was critically injured and was rushed to the hospital.

Another fatal accident occurred on August 3, 2024, in Ibrahim Bagh, where a 7-year-old boy died, and his parents were injured after their bike was hit by a car driven by an intoxicated driver. The driver, identified as Srinath, was reportedly under the influence of alcohol and was driving on the wrong side of the road. Srinath has been arrested in the case.

On August 2, 2024, a 19-year-old BBA student, Charan, died in a high-speed crash near Raidurgam. Charan, who was returning home from BNR Hills, lost control of his Swift Dzire, resulting in fatal injuries. Police determined that overspeeding was the cause of the accident.
