S. P. Balasubrahmanyam’s last message to drummer Sivamani revealed on Telugu Indian Idol Season 3

Hyderabad: Telugu Indian Idol Season 3 will feature an emotional moment as legendary drummer Anandan Sivamani shares the final message from his mentor, the late SP Balasubrahmanyam. The newest episode airs exclusively on the Aha OTT platform every Friday and Saturday from 7 p.m. It promises to be a deeply touching tribute to the music maestro.
Anandan Sivamani, also known as ‘Drums Sivamani,’ appeared as a guest judge on Telugu Indian Idol Season 3. During his appearance, he became emotional as he remembered the profound influence that SP Balasubrahmanyam had on his musical journey. Sivamani, a renowned drummer who started his career under SP Balasubrahmanyam’s guidance, expressed his sorrow over the maestro’s untimely demise on September 25, 2020, due to health complications related to COVID-19.
During the episode, Sivamani will share and play SP Balasubramaniam’s last voice note, offering fans and viewers a rare glimpse into their enduring bond and his final words of wisdom.
Sivamani also shared how he remembered SP Balasubrahmanyam on Guru Purnima, which took place on July 21, 2024. He became emotional while sharing his memories, reminiscing SPB’s impact on him.
Telugu Indian Idol 3 judge S. Thaman also remembered his close bond with SPB, recounting a cherished memory of his first flight at age 12 alongside the legendary singer. Thaman also opened up about the challenges he faced, including his father’s passing, and highlighted the support he received from Sivamani during those tough times.
Thaman said, “After my father’s death, I’ve been focused on caring for my mother and sister, but I never cried. Every October, Sivamani usually wears a Mala and goes to Sabarimala, but he stopped his pilgrimage to visit and meet us during the tough times. Experiencing this emotional gesture brought tears to my eyes.”
Speaking of the performances, Sivamani was impressed by contestant Keshav Ram’s performance on Telugu Indian Idol season 3. He expressed his intention to recommend the young talent to the legendary AR Rahman. “Whenever I encounter a gifted singer or musician, I immediately contact AR Rahman and suggest them,” Sivamani said. “I’ve just taken some photos of Keshav and will be sending them to him soon.”
