South India Science Fair begins in Sangareddy on January 19

HYDERABAD: The South India Science Fair (SISF) 2026 will be held in Telangana from January 19 to 23, with preparations nearing completion at The Gaudium School in Kollur village of RC Puram mandal, Sangareddy district.
Students from six southern states to take part
The five-day event is being organised by the School Education Department with support from the Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum. Students from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Puducherry will participate.
Classes 9 and 10 students will present 210 science exhibits, with 35 exhibits from each state. The exhibits include 10 group projects, 15 individual projects and 10 teacher-led exhibits. A total of 210 students and 210 teachers will attend the fair.
Telangana hosts fair after eight years
The South India Science Fair is conducted on a rotational basis, and Telangana has secured the opportunity to host the 2026 edition. The state last hosted the event in 2018 at St Patrick’s School in Secunderabad.

Registrations on January 18
Arrangements are being overseen by School Education Director Naveen Nicholas and Sangareddy Collector P Praveenya. Organisers expect 3,000 to 4,000 students from nearby areas to visit the exhibition each day.
Registrations will be held on January 18, and the exhibition will run from January 19 to 23, Nicholas said.
