1,400 special trains for Dussehra and Deepavali
In addition, South Central Railways plans to operate around 1,400 special trains to meet the travel demands during the Dussehra and Deepavali festival seasons.
Given the high demand for travel between the two Telugu states and to northern states like Bihar and Uttar Pradesh and eastern states like West Bengal during October and November, SCR is announcing these special train services to accommodate the increased passenger load. More special trains will be announced to address the rising demand in the coming days.
The special trains will operate on popular routes from major SCR stations towards Tirupati, Nizamuddin, Visakhapatnam, Gorakhpur, Agartala, Raxaul, Nagarsol, Danapur, Santragachi, Srikakulam, Nagpur, Malda Town, Patna, Shalimar, Shirdi, Sholapur, Pune, Mumbai, and Jaipur. The coach composition includes both reserved and unreserved coaches to cater to all segments of passengers.
SCR advises passengers wishing to travel in unreserved coaches to purchase their tickets via the UTS mobile app to avoid long queues at general counters.
Additionally, Indian Railways has launched the Navratri Vrat Special Thali at over 150 railway stations, including Hyderabad, Secunderabad, and Tirupati. Passengers can order this special thali online through the IRCTC mobile app and website.
Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager of South Central Railway, has appealed to rail users to take advantage of these additional travel facilities and ensure a safe and comfortable journey. He also mentioned that plans are underway to introduce more special trains based on the availability of resources, including rolling stock and track capacity, and that the demand for routes is being regularly analysed to enhance service efficiency.
