Miyapur: The SMR Vinay Hilands Welfare Association in Miyapur successfully concluded a month-long series of Khelotsav competitions. During Republic Day celebrations, winners were awarded prizes on Sunday, January 26, 2025.

Uppalapati Srikanth, Corporator of 108 Miyapur Division and Member of the GHMC Standing Council was the chief guest at the event.

The morning session began with residents of all ages gathering in tricolor attire, setting a patriotic tone for the day. A unity walk followed, with participants proudly waving the national flag and chanting patriotic slogans.

President Narsi Reddy hoisted the flag, which was followed by a collective rendition of the national anthem. The security staff paraded, and residents sang patriotic songs, adding to the event’s spirit.

President Narsi Reddy addressed the gathering, discussing the team’s achievements, upcoming initiatives, and the vision for the community’s welfare. Treasurer Puvvada Picchai shared insights into financial matters, while Malla Reddy spoke about the significance of Republic Day.

Corporator Srikanth, accompanied by Executive Committee members and residents, inaugurated a Buddha statue near the community’s main gate in the evening.

The president welcomed the guest of honor and invited him to present trophies to the winners of the MIHIRA Khelotsav competitions. Corporator Srikanth praised the community’s unity and expressed gratitude for the invitation.

The evening’s highlight was a dance performance by the women of SMR Vinay Hilands, themed around patriotism and Bharat Mata, which captivated the audience.

The prize distribution ceremony followed, with various sports and cultural competition winners receiving their trophies and medals from Corporator Srikanth. Corporator Srikanth and the EC members commended the Khelotsav and cultural teams for their successful organization of the events over the past two months.
