Six year old boy critically injured after electric shock while retrieving kite in Sangareddy

SANGAREDDY: A six-year-old boy suffered critical burn injuries after receiving a severe electric shock while attempting to retrieve a kite entangled in an overhead power line at Dakur village in Andole mandal of Sangareddy district on Monday evening.

The boy, G Aravind, a native of Ibrahimpur village in Chilipiched mandal, was staying with his paternal uncle’s family at Dakur. Police said the incident occurred while the child was flying a kite, which snapped and got caught in an overhead electric line.

When Aravind tried to retrieve the kite, he came into contact with the live wire and received a strong electric shock. He suffered severe burn injuries and collapsed on the spot.

Family members rushed him to a nearby hospital, from where he was referred to Osmania General Hospital in Hyderabad for advanced treatment. Hospital sources said the child’s condition was critical and he was undergoing treatment.
