Six arrested in Hyderabad for creating fake Aadhar, voter ID cards, & passports

Hyderabad: The Commissioner’s Task Force, North Zone Team, along with the Mahankali Police, has apprehended six individuals on November 14, 2024, involved in the illegal production of fake documents, including voter IDs, Aadhar cards, birth certificates, and other official papers.

The Arrested accused have been identified as Yelgam Raj Kumar (42), owner of RS Online Service Center, Secunderabad ; Md. Mahboob (25), private employee, LB Nagar; Rachamalla Vijayalaxmi (39), computer operator, Secunderabad; Kurapati Pallavi (32), computer operator, Secunderabad; Bandi Shankar (48), passport agent, Secunderabad; Giriraj Anil Kumar (27 years), computer operator at GHMC Secunderabad (contract basis).

The police have recovered forged documents and equipment used for producing fake IDs, including:
557 fake voter ID cards; 300 pre-printed voter ID cards; 180 fake attested gazetted sign and signature forms; 40 fake Aadhar pre-printed cards; 50 birth certificates (fake); 100 pre-printed birth certificates; 6 fake documents intended for obtaining passports; Biometric instrument for Aadhar corrections; 3 computers, 1 laptop, 2 printers, and 1 voter ID card printer; 4 fake stamps of various gazetted officers; 6 customer data entry books; 2 green ink pens; 19 fake PAN cards.

According to police reports, Yelgam Raj Kumar, a resident of Kalasiguda, Secunderabad, ran RS Online Service Center in Patny for over 10 years. He, along with his staff Rachamalla Vijayalaxmi and Kurapati Pallavi used desktop applications such as “Magically/Universal ID and Printing Tool” to generate fake IDs. These forged documents included voter IDs, Aadhar cards, and PAN cards, which they used to manipulate and alter personal details like addresses and dates of birth.

Raj Kumar also exploited gazetted officer stamps that were illegally obtained, allowing him to issue forged signatures and documents. This enabled him to modify Aadhar cards and facilitate the creation of fake birth certificates. These counterfeit documents were then used to acquire caste certificates and passports.

Md. Mahboob, a contract worker for Sarva Siksha Abhiyaan, was authorized to make corrections in Aadhar cards at schools but extended his services illegally to Raj Kumar’s operation, earning easy money by facilitating these fraudulent activities.

Bandi Shankar, a passport agent, brought clients to Raj Kumar’s service center in need of fake documents for passport applications. Giriraj Anil Kumar, a computer operator at GHMC Secunderabad, provided assistance in approving fake voter ID cards, further aiding the illegal operation.

The gang began their illegal activities as early as 2015, and it was discovered that they had created thousands of fake documents over the years. The documents forged by the accused were:
Voter IDs: 50,000 (15,000 fake); Aadhar cards: 30,000 (10,000 fake); Passports: 1,250 (50 fake); Birth certificates: 2,000 (all fake); PAN cards: 1,500 (all fake).

In addition, the investigation uncovered soft copies of fake documents found on the accused’s computers, which included 3,182 fake voter ID cards, 574 fake Aadhar cards, 365 fake PAN cards, and 54 fake birth certificates.

Fake passports were also recovered, and police identified that some of these passports were issued using fake voter IDs to alter details in Aadhar cards.

Authorities also found evidence that foreign nationals, including citizens from Nepal, had obtained fake Aadhar cards through forged documents. The documents included: 1,000 fake voter IDs; 750 fake birth certificates; 1,500 fake Aadhar cards.

A further probe revealed that A. Sravankumar, an agent from Neredmet, was arrested earlier for involvement in the fake stamps case in June 2023. Upon his arrest, Raj Kumar allegedly corrupted the data on his computers to escape detection. The fake documents created after June 11, 2023, were processed using stolen gazetted officer stamps and signatures.

The investigation also revealed that the accused had prepared fake stamps of several gazetted officers to authenticate their forged documents. The list includes:
Dayanand, Head Master, Govt. Boys High School, Kalasiguda, Secunderabad; Dr. D. SriHarsha Dasari, District Medical & Health Officer, Hyderabad; Dr. B. Janardhan, CAS RMD, Gandhi Hospital, Secunderabad; Dr. Mohmed Chand Moula, Assistant Professor, OMC, Hyderabad.

The arrests were made by K. Saidulu, Inspector of Police, and his team from the North Zone Task Force, with assistance from K. Parshuram, Inspector of Police, and P. John, SI, Mahankali Police Station.
