Sigachi industries accident victims await Ex-Gratia, EPF, ESIC benefits
HYDERABAD: The Telangana People’s Joint Action Committee (TPJAC) in Sangareddy District is worried that, even after 13 months, many victims and families from the Sigachi Industries accident in Pashamylaram have not received the financial help promised by the Central and State governments. Important benefits like EPF, EDLI, and ESIC are also still pending.
During the ‘Prajavani’ public grievance program on August 3, 2026, the TPJAC gave a note to the Sangareddy District Collector. They described how victims are still suffering. The committee said the Rs 2 lakh ex-gratia from the Central Government has not reached 11 victims, and the Rs 1 lakh from the Telangana Government has not been paid to 8 victims. EPF and EDLI benefits are still pending for some, and ESIC benefits are pending for 25 people.
The note also focused on Rajesh Kumar Choudhary, Sushma, and Divya, who were badly hurt in the accident. The committee said the Rs 10 lakh compensation given to them is not enough, because their injuries are permanent and they will need more medical care. They have also lost their jobs and their quality of life has been affected.

The TPJAC asked the government to raise the compensation to Rs 50 lakh for these three people. Since Sushma and Divya are well educated, the committee also asked the government to help them get permanent jobs in pharmaceutical companies in Hyderabad, suited to their education. The TPJAC urged the District Collector to work with departments like Revenue, Labour, EPFO, and ESIC. They want urgent action so all pending benefits reach the victims.
TPJAC demands pending benefits for victims
The committee submitted detailed lists of the affected individuals, including 11 victims awaiting Central Government ex-gratia, 8 victims awaiting State Government ex-gratia, 13 victims with pending EPF and EDLI benefits, and 25 victims with pending ESIC benefits.
The Telangana People’s Joint Action Committee demanded that the government respond with a humanitarian approach and immediately release all pending financial and statutory benefits. Participants in the event included Y. Ashok Kumar, Convener, R. Lakshmi and A. Manasa, Co-conveners, and R. Chandra Reddy, Co-convener. The committee has urged the authorities to ensure justice for the victims without further delay.
