Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation Raid Finds Hygiene Violations at Bread Unit
HYDERABAD: Food Safety officials issued an improvement notice to M/s Siddivinayaka Foods, a bread manufacturing unit in Uppal, after a routine inspection on July 6, 2026, found several hygiene and food safety violations.
Food stored on floor, poor hygiene found
During the inspection, officials found food items and raw materials stored directly on the floor. Food handlers worked without aprons or gloves, while workers manufactured and packed bread in unhygienic conditions.
Inspectors also found storage racks covered with rust and dust. Cobwebs on the walls pointed to poor housekeeping.
Housefly infestation raises food safety concerns
Officials found poor lighting, inadequate ventilation, and no insect-proof mesh in the manufacturing area. They also noticed a heavy housefly infestation, which increased the risk of food contamination.
The inspection team found that the unit did not maintain pest control records. Food handlers also failed to follow proper personal hygiene practices.
After the inspection, the Food Safety Officer issued an improvement notice directing the company to fix all deficiencies and comply with Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) food safety norms.
The manufacturing unit scored 58 out of 100 in the hygiene assessment conducted during the inspection.
