Siddipet: Son steals ₹32.4 lakh from father

Siddipet: A man allegedly broke into his father’s house and stole ₹32.45 lakh in cash and gold in Siddipet town.

Two Town police station Circle Inspector Upender said the incident came to light after a complaint on Friday, February 27, 2026.

Father alleges harassment over property

Vemula Sricharan Sai Das, a resident of Siddipet, has two sons. His younger son died earlier due to illness. His elder son, Santosh Kumar, had a love marriage and lives with his family in Cheriyal.

In 2023, Sai Das suffered a paralytic stroke and was hospitalised. Police said that during this period, Santosh Kumar allegedly broke open the locks of his father’s house and stole ₹27.45 lakh in cash and gold ornaments worth ₹5 lakh.

Based on Sai Das’ complaint, police registered a case and launched an inquiry.

Santosh Kumar works as the secretary of Rampur Gram Panchayat in Cheriyal mandal. The complainant alleged that his son had been pressuring him to transfer property and had threatened to kill him over the issue.

Police said further investigation is underway.
