Siddipet ACP, three others booked for resisting drunk driving test in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: Madhura Nagar police have booked a case against Siddipet Traffic ACP Suman Kumar for allegedly misbehaving with traffic policemen during a drunk driving inspection in the city on Tuesday night.
The police said Suman Kumar was traveling with four others in a car and one Jaipal Reddy was behind the wheel. Noticing a drunk driving check post from a distance, Reddy quickly changed seats with another person in the car as he was in an inebriated condition.
The traffic policemen, who observed Reddy switching the seats to evade trouble, approached the car to conduct a breath-analyzer test on him. However, Suman Kumar got down from the car and allegedly behaved rudely and acted aggressively toward the on-duty police officer.
Following the altercation, the on-duty police officer called the law and order wing personnel who promptly arrived at the scene and shifted the Siddipet officer, Jaipal Reddy and two other associates to Madhura Nagar police station.
Subsequently, the on-duty policemen filed a complaint against the ACP and three others. Meanwhile, Madhura Nagar police have also registered a case against Jaipal Reddy for driving under the influence of alcohol.
