Aditi Myakal slams Shivaji over dress remarks

HYDERABAD: Comments made by Tollywood actor Shivaji on heroines’ attire have triggered fresh controversy in the film industry.
Shivaji had spoken at a movie event after the Nidhi Agarwal episode linked to “The Raja Saab”. During his speech, he used two words considered obscene while referring to women’s dresses. The remarks had drawn widespread criticism at the time.
Reacting to the comments, Tollywood actress Aditi Myakal said she used to watch Shivaji’s films as a child. “When you speak about a girl’s dress, it scares me,” she said.
She questioned why he did not object when heroines in his own films wore similar outfits. “At that time, you said it was none of our concern and moved on. Why didn’t you stop them then?” she asked.
‘I am not walking on roads in a bikini’
Aditi said she likes wearing such clothes and that it is her profession. “This is what feeds me. That doesn’t mean I am walking on the road in a bikini,” she added.
She also recalled an incident during the promotions of “Ami Thumi”. She said a man touched her chest while she was travelling in a bus for the promotions.
Aditi told Shivaji to stop blaming women for every issue. She said women are already facing many problems. She also said it is not right for some people to tell women to dress properly because their innerwear is visible.
Aditi’s remarks have once again sparked debate in Tollywood.
Aditi earlier impressed audiences with her role as the hero’s friend in “Arjun Reddy”. She later acted in films such as “Ami Thumi”, “Eakam”, “24 Kisses”, “Radha” and “Shaadi Mubarak”. She began her career with web series and short films before moving to mainstream cinema.
“మీ మూవీస్లోనే హీరోయిన్స్ అలాంటి బట్టలు వేసుకున్నారు. అప్పుడెందుకు వాళ్లని ఆపలేదు..
నాకు ఇష్టం ఇలాంటి బట్టలు వేసుకోవడం.. నాకు FOOD పెడుతోంది.. అలా అని నేను BIKINI రోడ్ మీద వేసుకొని వెళ్లట్లేదు కదా.”
