Shepherd couple found dead in Asifabad forest

KUMRAM BHEEM ASIFABAD: The bodies of a shepherd couple were found in the forests of Achelli village in Sirpur (T) mandal on Thursday night, creating tension in the area.
Police said relatives discovered the bodies of Dulam Shekhar, 45, and his wife Susheela, 40, both residents of Achelli. The couple had gone to graze cattle in the forest on Wednesday morning but failed to return home by evening, prompting a search.
Officers from the police and forest departments inspected the spot. The bodies were shifted to the government hospital mortuary in Sirpur (T) town.
Initial suspicion is that the couple may have been attacked by a wild animal or died in an accident. Police said Susheela had facial injuries and bleeding wounds, while Shekhar had head injuries.
Samples collected from the injuries were sent for forensic examination. “The exact cause of death will be known after the forensic report,” police said.
