SHE Teams nab 117 harassers during Ujjaini Mahankali Bonalu in Secunderabad

Hyderabad: SHE Teams have successfully apprehended 117 individuals for harassing women devotees during the ongoing Ujjaini Mahankali Bonalu festival in Secunderabad. In a swift crackdown over the past two days, the teams have taken stringent action against those indulging in indecent behavior in public places.
Officials from SHE Teams have stated that all those arrested will be produced before a magistrate for further legal proceedings. The teams are working round-the-clock to ensure the safety and security of all citizens, with a particular focus on women’s well-being during the festival.
Ensuring their commitment to public order, SHE Teams reiterated that such misconduct will not be tolerated. The public is urged to cooperate by reporting any incidents of harassment to the SHE Teams helpline via WhatsApp at 9490616555.
Rachakonda SHE Teams have intensified their crackdown on individuals harassing women within the commissionerate limits. In a recent 15-day drive, police arrested 111 offenders, including 52 minors. This action demonstrates the force’s commitment to ensuring the safety of women in the area.

Revealing the data of complaints received through various means, Rachakonda police stated that from June 1 to June 15, they received 148 complaints from the women victims. Rachakodna police received the highest number of complaints, 95 directly, followed by 34 complaints through social media and 26 through phone calls.
Moreover, each of the complaints has been addressed, and according to the severity, the accused are called for counseling, and in others, cases have been booked. In nine complaints, criminal cases have been booked, and in 57 complaints, petty cases were booked, and further investigation is underway.
