Shankarpally police arrest five in ganja trafficking case
SHANKARPALLY: Police arrested five people, including members of an interstate gang, for allegedly selling ganja in the outskirts of Hyderabad under the limits of the Future City Commissionerate.
Acting on specific information, the Special Operations Team (SOT) of Chevella and Mokila police conducted raids in Indra Reddy Nagar, Mirzaguda. Police said the accused had been purchasing ganja at low prices in Odisha and selling it in areas where labourers work on the city’s outskirts.
The arrested include four persons from Bihar and Odisha and a local resident, Mohammed Javid, from Kondakal village. Police said the group operated as a gang and supplied ganja in suburban areas of Hyderabad.
Police seized 8.78 kg of dried ganja, five mobile phones, one motorcycle, and ₹4,200 in cash from their possession. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
