Hyderabad Excise Seizes ₹3.6 Lakh Liquor Near Shamshabad Airport
HYDERABAD: Excise enforcement teams seized liquor worth ₹3.6 lakh during a special drive targeting illegal transport of non duty paid liquor near Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad.
The drive was conducted following directions from enforcement director Shanawaz Qasim.
Excise teams intercept Delhi, Goa liquor near airport road
Excise Enforcement BC and D teams, led by circle inspectors Bhiksha Reddy, Venkateswarlu and Nagaraju, acted on information that liquor from Delhi and Goa was being transported through the airport route.
Officials conducted vehicle checks on the road outside the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport and seized 99 liquor bottles brought from Delhi and Goa.
Two operations seize 184 bottles during vehicle inspections
In another operation on Shamshabad Road, Shamshabad DTF circle inspector Praveen Kumar, Sherlingampally Excise Station sub-inspector Kiran, Chevella Excise Station sub-inspector Venkateswarlu, and Shamshabad circle inspector Devender Rao inspected vehicles to intercept non-duty-paid liquor coming from the airport.
The team seized 85 liquor bottles during the inspection.
Excise officials registered 12 cases in connection with the seizures.
Across the two operations, authorities seized 184 liquor bottles. Officials estimated the value of the seized liquor at ₹3.6 lakh.
