HYDERABAD: Court stay ignored; layout allegedly developed on government land

Hydraa clears encroachment, fences 9.05 acres in Shamshabad

Authorities cleared encroachments on 9.05 acres of government land in Shamshabad on Wednesday, with officials estimating the land value at over ₹90 crore.

Revenue records show that Survey No. 626/2 has a total of 176.05 acres classified as government land. Of this, 166 acres were allotted to the Forest Development Corporation, leaving 9.05 acres unallocated. As per old village records (khasra pahani), the entire extent is recorded as government land.

Some individuals have claimed rights over the 9.05 acres, citing it as CS 14 land linked to the Nizam era. Revenue officials, however, maintain that it is government land. The dispute is pending before the High Court, which has ordered status quo, restraining any change in land nature or construction activity.

Despite the court order, complaints were filed during Prajavani alleging that Tajammul Moinuddin Khan had levelled the land and converted it into a layout. A field inspection confirmed that the land was flattened and encroached upon using precast boundary walls.

Officials said notices were issued under the Land Encroachment Act, 1905, directing removal of encroachments. The instructions were allegedly ignored, and authorities also found that some plots had been sold.

Following complaints from revenue and municipal officials, Hydra launched an operation on Wednesday and cleared encroachments on the 9.05 acres. The agency fenced the land and installed boards declaring it as government property, in the presence of revenue and municipal officials.
