Shamshabad airport officials seize 1kg gold
SHAMSHABAD: Customs officials seized 1kg of gold from a passenger at Shamshabad airport on Friday.
A man travelling from the Gulf to Hyderabad had arrived at Thiruvananthapuram airport carrying the gold, which he had moulded into a lump and concealed in a polythene cover.
The man then travelled to Hyderabad on IndiGo flight 6E-5368, apparently believing that customs officials would not check domestic passengers. He handed over the cover to Sadiq and left.
Officials checked Sadiq as he was leaving Shamshabad airport with the gold in his hand baggage. They found the gold in the bag and seized it.
