Shahalibanda fire leaves shop owner critical, one man dead

HYDERABAD: A late-night fire triggered by a series of blasts at Gomati Electronics in Shahalibanda left the shop owner critically injured and an unidentified man dead on Monday midnight.
Blasts rip through electronics shop
According to Moghalpura police, shop owner Shivakumar Bansal, 49, was at the showroom around 11 pm on Monday when he heard three blast sounds. Flames quickly spread through the premises. He sustained severe burn injuries and collapsed inside the shop.
He was shifted to Apollo Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment in the burns ward, officers said.
Unidentified man dies at Osmania
Police said an unidentified man, aged around 50 years, who was standing near the shop during the incident, also suffered major burns. He was taken to Osmania General Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Police seek help to identify victim
An inquiry into the cause of the blasts is underway. Moghalpura police have asked the public to help identify the deceased. Information may be shared with Moghalpura police station at 8712664412 or with the Inspector of Police at 8712660361, officials added.
