Why Shah Gouse Restaurant received an improvement notice after a food safety inspection

HYDERABAD: Food Safety teams of the Commissionerate of Municipal Corporation (CMC) conducted a routine inspection at Shah Gouse Restaurant, opposite Biodiversity Park on Raidurg–Gachibowli Road, on June 27, 2026, as part of ongoing food safety inspections across Cyberabad.
Food handlers followed some safety practices
Inspectors found that food handlers were wearing caps and aprons, which was recorded as a positive hygiene practice during the inspection.
Kitchen hygiene lapses flagged
The inspection team observed houseflies across the kitchen, poor housekeeping with grease, dirt and dust accumulation, and an unhygienic non-vegetarian cutting area that posed a risk of cross-contamination.
Officials also found open drains, accumulation of food waste, an unclean wash area, and leakage in the store room. Semi-prepared food items were stored without labels, while water testing records were not produced during the inspection. Gutka stains were also observed on the kitchen walls.
