LB Nagar court gives Shabad man 20 years

HYDERABAD: A special court has sentenced a man to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment for sexually assaulting his minor daughter in Shabad mandal.
According to Shabad Circle Inspector Kantha Reddy, Raju, 37, a resident of a village in the mandal, sexually assaulted his daughter on October 12, 2024. A case was registered based on the victim’s complaint, and the accused was remanded to judicial custody.
Father convicted under POCSO Act in daughter assault case
After examining the evidence and case records, Special Sessions Judge G. Srinivas of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Court in LB Nagar convicted the accused and sentenced him to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment.
The court also imposed a fine of ₹2,500 on the convict.
Court awards ₹7 lakh compensation to victim
The judge directed that the victim be paid compensation of ₹7 lakh.
Circle Inspector Kantha Reddy congratulated Assistant Public Prosecutor Bhikshapathi Goud and court staff members A.N.D. Hanif, H.V. Prabhakar and Alivelu for their role in the case investigation and prosecution.
