Sexual harassment in Court premises: SHE teams says its closely monitoring the case

CHARMINAR: Hyderabad SHE teams on Thursday said that its closely monitoring the case of sexual harassment in the Telangana high court premises. Further it is also continuing its ironfisted stance against the miscreants who are harassing the women, SHE teams are ensuring to get the conviction in most of the cases.

Revealing the details of a case related to an advocate and former government pleader A. Sanjay Kumar SHe teams said they are closely monitoring the case and providing support to the complainant to ensure justice is served.

 

Kumar’s video of misbehaving with a woman in the premises of High court went viral on social media. Many netizens criticised Kumar’s behavior and condemned his acts in the high court premises. Subsequently he was suspended by the court.

Going further into the details, a victim approached the SHE teams alleging that Mr. Sanjay Kumar was misbehaving with her within court premises, forcing her to provide sexual favors, stalking her on a daily basis, and blackmailing using his influence.

“Upon receiving the complaint, the SHE Teams promptly launched an investigation into the allegations. A case was registered against Sanjay Kumar in a Charminar police station under 354(Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 354D(Stalking), 506(criminal intimidation) under IPC. SHE teams are looking into the allegations and working to gather evidence and witness statements,” said SHE teams in a press statement.

SHE teams going all out against the miscreants

The SHE team officials stated that recently in one case, an individual who harassed a woman was arrested and produced in the court. The court convicted the miscreant with 6 days of simple imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 200. In another case six miscreants who were harassing the women were caught red handed and produced in the court. The court convicted 2 days of simple imprisonment and fined Rs 200 five miscreants and one was sentenced to 5 days of simple imprisonment and fined ₹200.
