Sekhar Kammula’s Kuberaa starring Dhanush, Nagarjuna, and Rashmika to release June 20, 2025
Hyderabad: The much-awaited film Kuberaa, directed by Sekhar Kammula, has officially announced its release date. The movie, which stars Dhanush, Akkineni Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna, Jim Sarbh, and Dalip Tahil, is set to hit theaters worldwide on June 20, 2025.
The announcement was made on February 27, 2025, through the film’s official social media handle. A poster accompanying the release date features Dhanush and Nagarjuna facing each other, with a third figure standing between them. The tagline reads, “A story of power. A battle for wealth. A game of fate.” The makers promised an “enchanting theatrical experience” for audiences when the film premieres on June 20.

Kuberaa is a highly anticipated project in both Tollywood and Kollywood, given the collaboration between director Sekhar Kammula and actor Dhanush. Suniel Narang and Puskur Rammohan Rao are producing the film under the banner of Amigos Creations. It will be released in multiple languages, including Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi.
Originally announced in June 2021 under the working title D51 (marking Dhanush’s 51st film), the film was later renamed DNS after Nagarjuna’s involvement. The official title, Kuberaa, was revealed on March 8, 2024. Principal photography began in February 2024, with filming taking place in Hyderabad, Mumbai, Goa, Tirupati, and Bangkok.
The soundtrack for the film, composed by Devi Sri Prasad, will be released under Aditya Music. Cinematography is handled by Niketh Bommireddy, with editing by Karthika Srinivas and production design by Thota Tharani.
Kuberaa promises to be a significant release for fans of both Dhanush and Nagarjuna and with Sekhar Kammula at the helm, expectations are high.
