Security concerns spark protest as drunk intruder breaches Osmania University women’s hostel
TARNAKA: Female students at Osmania University protested on Saturday following an incident where an intoxicated man allegedly entered their PG women’s hostel near Hyderabad’s Begumpet.
During the protest, students voiced their concerns and frustration regarding the security breach at the women’s hostel. The trespasser, in a drunken state, climbed to the ventilator of a women’s washroom on the first floor around midnight on Friday, January 26, attempting to communicate with the students.
In addition, students reported that stones were thrown at the washroom on the floor below. The overnight protest aimed to address the students’ demands for improved living conditions and essential facilities at the hostel.
According to Begumpet Police Detective Inspector M Mallesham the students and hostel security guards apprehended the trespasser, who was handed over to the police. Further investigation regarding the trespasser is underway.
