Secunderabad Police reunite kidnapped boy with parents

SECUNDERABAD: A three-year-old boy, Nikhil, who was allegedly kidnapped from Secunderabad Railway Station on June 20, was reunited with his parents after police traced him during the investigation.

CCTV footage leads police to suspect

Based on a complaint lodged by the child’s parents, the Secunderabad Railway Police registered a kidnapping case and launched an investigation. Police examined CCTV footage from the railway station while searching for the suspect.

On Friday, a man identified as Shaik Mahboob Ali arrived at the police station with the child. During initial questioning, he told police that he had found the boy at Secunderabad Railway Station two days earlier. However, sustained interrogation revealed that he had taken the child on June 20.

Parents identify child through video call

Police compared photographs of the child with those shared by the Secunderabad Railway Police. They confirmed that the boy was the same child reported missing.

The child’s parents also identified him during a video call. Following the confirmation, police handed over the boy to his parents.

Suspect handed over for further investigation

The suspect was handed over to the Secunderabad Railway Police and Jeedimetla Police for further investigation. The Secunderabad Railway Police said appropriate legal action would be taken after completing the investigation.
