Secunderabad excise seizes illegal wine worth ₹50,000

SECUNDERABAD: Excise officials seized illegally manufactured wine worth an estimated ₹50,000 during raids in Mettuguda and Tarnaka and arrested three people.

Raids follow tip-off on illegal wine production

Acting on information that members of the Anglo-Indian community were manufacturing wine without the required permissions, a team led by Secunderabad District Task Force Excise Inspector Soujanya conducted raids at two locations under the Secunderabad Excise Station limits.

In the first case, officials seized 25 bottles of wine from House No. 12-7-190 and arrested Antony.

Three arrested in two separate cases

In another raid near the RTC Hospital area in Tarnaka, officials seized 20 litres of wine and arrested Venu and Prakash.

The seized wine is estimated to be worth ₹50,000. The accused and the seized wine were handed over to the Secunderabad Excise Station for further legal action.
