South Central Railway To Operate Special Holi Trains Between Kacheguda And Madar

Hyderabad: In view of the ongoing redevelopment work at Secunderabad Railway Station, the South Central Railway (SCR) has diverted several trains and decided to take up experimental halts at the Cherlapally railway terminal.

However, the passengers have expressed frustration over the lack of adequate MMTS train services to connect these stations.

Passengers coming from Bolarum to catch trains departing from Kacheguda railway station are facing inconvenience. They said they should first reach Secunderabad and then travel to Kacheguda.

Even though a couple of MMTS trains are being operated to Cherlapally terminal, their schedules are irregular, causing a great deal of inconvenience for commuters.

Amid the ongoing redevelopment work at Secunderabad railway station, the SCR authorities have decided to operate Tungabhadra Express from Kacheguda.

Trains running from Lingampalli towards Kazipet and Nalgonda will make a halt at Cherlapally and will be rerouted via Neredmet. Similarly, trains from Nizamabad towards Kazipet and Nalgonda will be diverted via Dayanand Nagar.

Similarly, SCR has diverted several trains to Cherlapally until the end of April. Thousands of passengers have been affected due to the recent diversion of multiple trains.

Starting March 26, (Train No.17405/17406) Tirupati-Adilabad-Tirupati Krishna Express will be moving from Bolarum via Moula Ali bypass instead of Secunderabad-Malkajgiri. It will skip Malkajgiri, Moula Ali and Secunderabad stations.

Additional trains that will operate from Cherlapally include:

Kakinada-Lingampally Express (April 2 to July 1)
Kazipet-Hadapsar Express (from April 22)
Lingampalli-Visakhapatnam Express (from April 25)

Adilabad Express, Sambalpur Express, Visakhapatnam-Nanded Express, Visakhapatnam-Shirdi Express, Narsapur-Nagarsol Express, Vasco-da-Gama-Jasidih Express, Shirdi-Machilipatnam Express, and Visakhapatnam-Lokmanya Tilak Express have also been diverted, leading to a significant passenger rush at Cherlapally terminal.

Passengers have requested the SCR authorities to operate MMTS trains between Cherlapally and Hyderabad, Secunderabad, and Umdanagar railway station via Malkajgiri. They have also suggested the authorities consider changing the starting point of Tungabhadra Express from Cherlapally, Bolarum, or Malkajgiri instead of Kacheguda.

Meanwhile, the authorities have acknowledged passenger concerns and stated that efforts are underway to align MMTS services with train schedules. They stated that adjustments are being considered to ensure seamless connectivity and reduce commuter inconvenience during the redevelopment phase.
