What food safety inspectors found at Sattibabu Biryani in Kondapur

Sathi Babu Biryani

HYDERABAD: Food Safety officials conducting routine inspections across Cyberabad identified minor food safety lapses at Sattibabu Biryani near KIMS Hospital in Kondapur during an inspection on June 20, 2026.

The inspection was carried out by the Commissionerate of Municipal Corporation (CMC) Food Safety team as part of its regular food safety enforcement drive.

Officials found several food safety practices in place at the restaurant. Food handlers were using hairnets, gloves and aprons, while expiry and use-by dates of food products were properly maintained. Medical fitness certificates, pest control records and water testing reports were also available.

Segregation, storage practices found satisfactory

The team noted that Food Safety Training and Certification (FOSTAC)-certified Food Safety Supervisors had been deployed. Separate storage and handling arrangements for vegetarian and non-vegetarian food items were maintained.

Fly catchers had been installed, and meat products were found to be properly cleaned, wrapped and stored. Vendor licences for food materials were also available during the inspection.

However, inspectors observed flies near food items because some containers were not covered at the time of inspection. Officials also found that proper labelling was not available on sourced ghee.

Directions issued for immediate rectification

The Food Safety team instructed the establishment to keep all food items covered at all times and directed management to procure and maintain properly labelled food products.

The restaurant scored 84 out of 92 marks, translating to a 92% hygiene compliance rating.

Officials said the establishment demonstrated a high level of compliance with food safety standards, with the identified shortcomings communicated for immediate corrective action.
