Saroor Nagar Drunkards Assaulted House Owner

Hyderabad: The Saroornagar Police has apprehended seven individuals on allegations of assault and vandalism. This incident took place during the early hours of June 13th near Chaitanyapuri Metro Station located in Netaji Nagar.

The accused individuals have been identified as Maddi Shankhu, also known as Shanku Yadav, a 25-year-old student; Gaddearaju Vamshi, a 26-year-old driver; Choegoni Harish, a 20-year-old student; Bozhi Shaieed Ali Khan, a 23-year-old photographer; Mohammad Sonu, a 19-year-old; Edulakanti Manoj, a 17-year-old; and Mohammad Rehan, a 16-year-old.

According to the police report, seven individuals, including Shanku Yadav, Vamsi, Shahid, Harish, Sonu, Suman, and others, were drinking near the Chaitanyapuri Metro Station. An argument ensued after a resident approached them and requested to stop creating a nuisance.

The report stated that the accused, allegedly intoxicated, went to the house of the person who confronted them. They damaged the house windows with stones and yelled threats, forcing the occupants to remain inside out of fear.

Janardhan Naidu, the owner of the house, was later informed by his tenant about the incident. When he arrived at the house for inspection, he was reportedly attacked by the accused with sticks and stones. Naidu was injured and rushed to Yashoda Hospital in Malakpet for treatment.

The Saroornagar Police registered a case against the accused under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). All seven individuals have been identified and produced before the court. They were subsequently sent to judicial remand. The investigation into the case is still ongoing.

The Telangana Police has announced that drinking alcohol in public places is considered an offense. Public drinking is seen as a criminal offense and is disruptive to the general public and local residents. Stringent actions will be taken against individuals found consuming alcohol on roads and in open spaces. The offense carries a potential jail term of up to 6 months, as stated by the Telangana Police.
