Bodies of shepherd couple found in Achelli forest Asifabad

SANGAREDDY: A watchman and his wife were found murdered in Indresham municipality under the limits of Patancheru police station in Sangareddy district.

The victims were identified as Somla Nayak, 50, and his wife Manyamma, 45. Somla Nayak worked as a watchman at an under-construction building in the area, and the couple stayed at the site.

Police said unknown persons allegedly attacked the couple during the night and beat them to death with blunt objects. Their bodies were found near the construction site on Saturday morning.

Police begin inquiry after bodies discovered

Local residents noticed the couple lying motionless and alerted the police. Officers from the Patancheru police station rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies for post-mortem examination.

The Clues Team examined the crime scene and collected evidence. Police suspect that the attack might have occurred during an attempted theft at the construction site, though the exact motive is yet to be confirmed.

Victims identified as Mahabubabad district residents

Police identified the deceased as residents of Dongachinthathanda in Gurudu mandal of Mahabubabad district. The couple had reportedly migrated to Sangareddy district for work.

A case has been registered and police launched a search for the accused.
