Visitors of Saikrupa Market in Malakpet Gunj call for urgent repairs

Malakpet: Residents and visitors of Saikrupa Market in Malakpet Gunj are facing significant challenges due to overflowing sewage lines, damaged open manholes, and poorly maintained roads. The situation becomes particularly dire during rainfall, making it nearly impossible for pedestrians to navigate the area without walking through pools of stagnant water.
Amjed Ullah Khan MBT (@amjedmbt) took to social media platform ‘X’ (formerly known as Twitter) to voice these pressing concerns. He stated, “@revanth_anumula Sir, it’s horrible to visit Saikrupa Market, Malakpet Gunj, where the entire area is plagued by overflowing SWG lines, damaged or open manholes, and roads riddled with large potholes. This situation has been neglected by both @GHMCOnline and @HMWSSBOnline officials.”
Amjed Ullah Khan highlighted the market’s importance, noting, “This market attracts hundreds of visitors not only from across Telangana but also from neighbouring states like Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh, who come here to buy essential commodities. I urge you to direct @MDHMWSSB and @CommissionrGHMC to personally visit this market and expedite the installation of new SWG and water lines, along with the construction of new CC roads, to alleviate the inconvenience faced by shoppers and business owners.”
He further highlighted the economic significance of Saikrupa Market, stating, “A market that generates lakhs of rupees for the government in various taxes is in desperate need of attention.”
In response to these concerns, the official handle of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) acknowledged the issue, tweeting, “Good Morning Sir, your complaint has been registered with Token No: 1260 & 1268 and has been communicated to the concerned officials. The Malakpet section manager will be addressing this issue as soon as possible. Thank you.”
As residents await action, the call for urgent repairs at Saikrupa Market continues, highlighting the need for swift intervention to ensure safety and accessibility for all.
