WANAPARTHY : At least 10 people were injured after a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (RTC) bus overturned near Pebberu in Wanaparthy district on Monday.
The bus, carrying about 30 passengers, was travelling from Mantralayam to Wanaparthy when the driver reportedly lost control while trying to avoid a two-wheeler. The bus overturned, leaving at least 10 passengers injured. They were shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment.
In a separate incident, a major accident was averted on the Maredumilli Ghat Road in Polavaram district of Andhra Pradesh on Sunday.
An RTC bus travelling from Rajahmundry to Bhadrachalam with around 40 passengers veered off the road while the driver attempted to avoid a head-on collision with a lorry coming from the opposite direction. The bus came to a halt at the edge of a gorge, preventing what could have been a serious tragedy. No casualties were reported.
